By plane

Samos is connected to Athens International Airport (the flight lasts 50 minutes) and to Macedonia International Airport in Thessaloniki (approximately 65 minutes) as well as to other airports in Greece. Several air companies fly to Samos, among them Olympic Air, Aegean Airlines and Sky Express. Additionally, several European airports, including those in Germany, Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, and Austria, offer direct charter flights to Samos, mainly from May to October. All flights land at Aristarchos Airport. The cost of the ticket varies depending on timeslot and demand.

By ferry 

Samos is connected to Piraeus, Athens’ main port, and Samos 3-4 times a week. The conventional ships make the route “Piraeus – Samos” in about 10 to 12 hours, depending on the vessel and route while the high-speed ones in about 7-8 hours. The connections are made from both ports of the island (Karlovasi, Vathi). Samos is also connected with the Greek ports of Thessaloniki and Rafina, and the Turkish Port Kusadasi. 

Visa Requirements

Attendees from non-European countries, such as Japan and Colombia, who plan to visit Greece for a short stay (up to 90 days) to attend the conference may require a Schengen visa. This visa grants entry into Greece and other Schengen Area countries. It is advisable to apply well in advance, as visa processing times can vary.
