The proposal for a Special Session should be submitted by one of the Special Session Convener(s)/Moderator(s)/Coordinator(s)/Chair(s). Furthermore, he/she should inform each contributor about the Session.
If the Special Session is structured in the form of a set of oral presentations following an introductory presentation/invited speech, the Convener(s)/Moderator(s)/ Coordinator(s)/Chair(s) should inform the participating author(s) that they should submit their abstracts individually through the conference website, indicating the Special Session they belong to.
Submission of a proposal for a Special Sessions involves the following information:
- Title of the proposed Special Session (up to 20 words)
- Information about the convener(s)/coordinators (Name, affiliation, contact details)
- Rationale and introduction of the topic of the session [up to 300 words]
- Alignment of the proposed Special Session to the IDRIM 2025 theme “Advancing disaster risk reduction in islands and remote areas”? [up to 100 words]
- Format in which the session will be organized [up to 100 words]
- Proposed duration and preferred mode of the session
- If relevant, details of the invited speaker(s) (Name, affiliation, contact details, link to online profile)
- Expected number of presenters/contributors (including keynote speakers if any).
- If relevant, information about the proposed presentations (Topic of presentation, Name of author(s), affiliation, contact details, Presenting author)
- Preferred date and time (Tentative. The date and time will be decided by the Organizing committee)
