The proposal for a Special Session should be submitted by the Special Session coordinator(s). Furthermore, the coordinator(s) should inform each contributor about the title and form of the Session.

If the Special Session is structured in the form of a set of oral presentations following an introductory presentation/keynote speech, the coordinator(s) should inform the participating author(s) that they should submit their abstracts individually through the conference website, indicating the Special Session they belong to. 

Abstract submissions for Special Sessions should include the following information:

  • Title of the proposed Special Session (up to 20 words)
  • Preferred date and time (Tentative. The date and time will be decided by the Organizing committee) 
  • Information about the convener(s)/coordinators (Name, affiliation, contact details)
  • Expected number of presenters/contributors (including keynote speakers if any).
  • About the Session [up to 300 words]
  • Format in which the session will be organized [up to 100 words]
  • Alignment of the proposed Special Session to the IDRIM 2025 theme ‘“Advancing disaster risk reduction in islands and remote areas”? [up to 200 words]
  • If relevant, details of the Keynote speaker(s) (Name, affiliation, profile, contact details)
  • If relevant, information about the proposed presentations (Topic of presentation, Name of author(s), affiliation, contact details, Presenting author)

All Special Session proposals will be reviewed by the IDRiM Scientific Committee. Upon acceptance, the coordinators will be notified by email.
