Processing of personal data
The Municipality of Eastern Samos processes personal data in its capacity as a local administration and in connection with its engagement with wider society. All processing of personal data aims to support this assignment. The Municipality applies the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Greek Law 4624/2019(Government Gazette A 137/29.8.2019), which implements both the provisions of the EU Enforcement Directive (LED 2016/680) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at the national level, as well as any other relevant legislation in force.

Personal data refers to any type of information that directly or indirectly can be linked to an identifiable person, such as:

What personal data does the Municipality collect?
The Municipality of Eastern Samos processes personal data for various purposes within our organisation. Within its function, the personal data of citizens is processed. Personal data is also processed for employees as well as participants in conferences or other events. There are also other situations in which the Municipality processes personal data, such as in contacts and collaborations between the Municipality and individuals and other organisations.In most cases, personal data is collected directly from the individual. This is usually done through contacts between the individual and the Municipality. Occasionally, personal data may also be collected from a third party.
